Thanksgiving

It's been great having Tiana home, we went to dinner and Twilight, Black Friday crazy shopping (with 1st timer Tiffini) and church to watch Casey and Sophi while Tiff and Derr speak. We missed Ted a lot, but he probably didn't miss our shinanigans ?!?

This day could only have been better, if all the family was together. As it was, it was very fun and I am very thankful to have a daughter who was excited to cook the whole Thanksgiving dinner all by herself!! I asked if I could pick up some Costco rolls...her response..."oh, I am making those from scratch" Shall I run to Marie Calendars and get some pie's?..."oh no, I am making those from scratch." It was so great because Tiff wanted to cook the whole thing top to bottom. She did the turkey, mash potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes (to die for and I don't care for sweet potatoes) Fresh steamed green beans, homemade rolls and of course a chocolate and coconut cream pie and a pecan pie. Not to mention real whipping cream. Can you tell I am impressed? I am. I have found shortcuts and things to do to make Turkey day more doable for me, but Holy Cow...no shortcuts here. We even ate on the beautiful China and had deviled eggs for appitizers.

"The Happiest Place On Earth"

Disneyland was so, so fun. We all had a blast. We wish Ted was able to stay longer, but we got our 3 days worth anyway. The kids were great, the food awesome, and shopping is always fun. Watching Tiffini go on rides with her kids and experience Disneyland with them for the first time...Priceless!

The D's Fall Getaway

This was in Oceanside on Friday. Ted and I spent the day down here watching the fishermen, walking along the beach and just sitting listening to the waves crash. So soothing to the soul. I couldn't get enough of the beautiful Ocean! The smell, the low temps, the absolute beauty!
So Fun!!! I could have stayed there forever....well, maybe not forever, but close!

Delynn and I went on a wonderful bike ride, the guys golfed, we got a special treat and we were able to spend some time with Devin and Missy and those cutie babies of theirs. Little baby Chloe and sweet Avery were just perfect little dolls. What fun! We ate at a yummy resturaunt out on a peir up by Devin and Missy's house. We had a workout/swim session at Lawrence Welk resort that was to die for. Thanks D's for hosting the fun.

49 Forever

I had the best, best birthday! Thank you everyone! I had lunch with my good friend Shelley and Tiffi and kids, then Ted took me to dinner and a movie, and shopping. All the kids called and wished me a happy birthday. I felt like Queen for a day! Actually, I have days like that often...not just on my birthday. Anyway, today was my 49th and I am just going to keep steady at that number. Everyone got me the funnest things and it was just a great time. Thanks again!

Tiffini and Casey and Sophi and Derrick got me the giant balloon and these gorgeous white roses and Trev and Summer and Madi got me a great book I am excited to read and they are ordering me some cute Madi pictures that they just had taken and Ty and Ash got me this great gift certificate for Amazon.com that I can't wait to use. Shelley got me these great "reader" sunglasses, where the magnifier is built into the sunglasses. I am so excited...who knew? Ted got a beautiful TV for the guest room/exercise room and an eliptical machine for their also. I am soooo excited. Finally a way to exercise that won't hurt my feet or knee's. Hooray! Tiana sent me her best wishes and the best birthday present ever by being happy and working hard at school! Thanks again everyone!

More Beijing

He said he gets to go to the wrestling finals and see the medal round on that. It's the only ticket he could get. :) He's having fun.

Beijing

There is nothing like being able to experience the Olympics in person and that is what Ted is getting to do. Here are a few of the pictures he has taken.

Enjoy!

Sophie party

Hooray, Sophie is one! What a big girl. Tiff and Derrick had a party for Sophie saturday and I took a few candids. Thanks Tiffi, great job. Sophie looked darling.

Monsoon pics

Heid vs. Monsoon

Monsoon Wins!!

1-Ted stalled in his Kia 2 blocks from our house and did $1,000.00 worth of damage to the engine. Not to mention the swamp smell that came on the inside of the car when he opened his door to push the car home. The water came pouring in!

2-Last thursday night we were looking out the back by the swimming pool wondering if the new landscaped trees were going to make it through the storm, when we heard some loud bangs on the front of our house. Ted and I walked out front and as we walked out the door a huge sheet of plywood (with shingles attached) came flying off our roof. We stood in amazement that we weren't just hurt very badly and then another sheet came down. Holy Cow...we didn't have a roof over the boy's bedroom, which is on top of the Living Room. The rain was coming down really hard so we rushed upstairs to the bedroom to see what damage. the curtains and floor were already wet, with water pouring in the windows. We moved everything out of that room as quick as we could and saved everything but the carpet. Then a light bulb went on and we hurried down to check the Living room and same thing going on. We moved everything! Then instead of a bucket brigade, we did a towel brigade trying to stop the flow around the windows. It rained steady for 5 hours and we worked until 2 in the morning. I had to keep washing and drying towels just to keep up with it all. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Casey and Sophie

So, so cute! We had a photographer come over and take a few family pics at graduation! Took the opportunity to get some of the kids. They were awesome!

Little smirk on Casey's face. Might be up to something :)

Our Baby Graduates

The day finally arrived! Tiana did it! We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished. Here she is with the whole group the day before. Good job everyone.
Here she is with her Grandma and Grandpa Church, down from Pleasant Grove, Utah
Grandma Bonnie came all the way from Bellevue, Washington for the occasion.
Very happy parents. Exciting new experiences lay ahead for all of us!
